FOUR brave men from real estate services Jones Lang LaSalle are taking part in the Tough Guy Challenge over an extreme obstacle course this month (30 January) to raise money for Greenwich & Bexley Community Hospice and Help the Heroes Sanctuary.

The London-based men who call themselves ‘Team With(out) A Token Sheila’ comprise 31-year-old Paul McAlister from Islington, 31-year-old Andrew Pryke from Streatham Hill, 38-year-old Rob Austen from Kilburn and 24-year-old Henry Fellows from Brixton.

“We chose the name because we had a brave lady joining us originally, but she is no longer able to participate,” says team member Paul McAlister.

More than 5,000 competitors from around the world are expected to participate in the gruelling assault course dubbed 'the world's hardest endurance test'.

The challenge takes competitors through knee-deep mud and bitterly cold conditions to run through a punishing set of obstacles including water, fire and tunnels.

Paul, who refers to the 4-5 hour challenge as ‘torturous’, says: “It's an amazing challenge and also a great opportunity to raise money for charity. The sub zero temperatures and snow prior to Christmas provided us with some extreme training conditions that we took full advantage of!”

So far the four have raised £1,130 but they aim to bring in over £2000 through sponsorship. The money will be split 50/50 between the two charities.
