Jury find Murat Karabeyaz not guilty of Richard Price killing

A 26-YEAR-OLD man has been cleared of killing Richard Price, who was beaten to death in an alleyway in Bromley.

A jury at the Old Bailey has found Murat Karabeyaz, of Burford Road in Catford, not guilty of manslaughter after a two-week trial.

Mr Price, of Southover in Sundridge Park, died aged 23 after being attacked by a group of men in an alleyway near the Swan & Mitre pub in Bromley High Street on October 31, 2009.

During the trial, bed salesman Mr Karabeyaz admitted being in the alleyway at the time of the assault but claimed he did not join in the attack or see who the culprits were.

Jagtar Johal, aged 38, of Blyth Road in Bromley, was found guilty of the manslaughter of Mr Price at a previous trial.

Michael Liddell, aged 20, from Ealing, and Param-Jit Theara, aged 25, of Ross Way in Eltham, were both cleared of murder and manslaughter at a previous trial.
