A DROP in centre for elderly people has re-opened after being saved from permanent closure.
Age Concern Bromley closed the Pop In Parlour in Sussex Road, West Wickham, in November last year because it was no longer financially sustainable.
However, a group of four volunteers stepped in to take over the running of the centre, and it has now re-opened to continue providing lunch and a place to meet for elderly people.
One of the volunteers, 55-year-old Ann Herbert, said: “We are pleased to be able to have our customers back in our permanent home and look forward to welcoming new people.
“This place is the life of some of the people who attend, and they would have been lost without it.”
