A 54-YEAR-OLD man who was carrying out work on behalf of Orange was killed in a fall from an office block roof in Bromley yesterday.

Armand Meguer was doing maintenance work on the roof of Sun Alliance House, London Road, and fell into the car park below at around 9.15am.

Mr Meguer's body is believed to have been discovered by one of the women working in the four storey building.

Emergency services were called to the scene but could not save the worker.

Health and Safety Executive officials are investigating the incident which police are treating as an accidental death.

They were at the scene along with the police for most of yesterday looking into what happened.

Grace Brewer, who manages Brewers the decorating shop next door, says her thoughts go out to the man’s family.

She said: “We feel sorry for the guy and his family.

“This guy probably got up in the morning, said goodbye to his family and went to work and now this has happened.

“It appears to be just one of those unfortunate accidents and it is just very sad for everybody connected with the gentleman.”

A spokesperson for Orange said: "We are aware of the sad news involving a third party sub-contractor who was carrying out work on behalf of Orange in Bromley yesterday and would like to offer our condolences to the individual's family at this time."
