A HEADTEACHER says a government blunder which underestimated her school’s achievements has been “very upsetting”.
Tables for Blackheath High School claimed the school had 50 per cent more pupils taking their GCSEs last year than the real figure.
Its mistake brings the school’s A* to C grades including English and maths down from 95 per cent to just 58 per cent.
The school now has to write in explaining the problem before any correction on the department’s website is made.
Headteacher Lisa Laws said: “This is very upsetting for us as our girls work very hard and achieve very successful results.
“We are anxious to correct the very distorted view of Blackheath High’s achievements that is currently being presented.”
