A 46-YEAR-OLD man has been charged with making a bomb hoax and criminal damage after an incident at a West End branch of Accessorize yesterday (Jan 13).
Malcolm Tripp, who claimed to be from New Cross, will appear in custody at City of Westminster Magistrates' Court today.
Police were called out to the Regent Street shop just after 12.20am yesterday when the building’s alarm went off.
On arrival officers saw a man inside the building claiming to have a bomb.
Officers surrounded the building and cleared the area while attempts were made to make contact with the man.
The man eventually left the shop voluntarily and was arrested.
