DESIGNING a new building in the Thames Gateway is the third and final brief set for a competition for architects, students, technicians, designers and engineers.
For this stage of the Line of Site challenge, entrants have been asked to create an iconic arts centre which will act as a visual landmark for the region. Their designs will not actually be realised as the aim of the competition is to inspire and test professionals' creative thinking.
Two other briefs have already been completed - a structure for Camp Everest to act as a hostel for climbers and a headquarters for world water management.
Entrants must submit their design before September 7 for the chance to have their work promoted by Google and architectural news publication Building Design.
Four finalists from each stage will win top-of-the-range laptops packed with new design software.
