BROMLEY is set to benefit from £4m in funding to make improvements to transport across the borough.
More than £2m will go towards the cost of replacing the Chislehurst Road bridge in Orpington, which can no longer carry heavy vehicles such as buses and lorries.
Elsewhere there will be £250,000 spent on laying anti-skid road surfacing material and £400,000 invested in a major make over for Bromley North.
The money is being provided by Transport for London, which is allocating cash across the capital’s boroughs.
Mayor of London Boris Johnson said: “This funding will allow boroughs to make real improvements to town centres, provide better cycling facilities and make roads safer across the capital.”

Perhaps LBB can invest in the junction of Westerham Road and Croydon Road at Keston Mark. The traffic light phasing here causes traffic build up at peak times, caused by vehicles turning right on to Croydon Road from Westerham Road.
Perhaps LBB can also address the traffic light phasing at the entrance to The Glades, which again causes un-nescessary traffic build up by preventing traffic turning left whilst everyone else goes straight on.
