AN INVESTIGATION has been launched after a dead body was found near the railway tracks close to Penge West station.

The man’s injuries are said to be consistent with electrocution and his family has been informed of his death.

British Transport Police is doing house to house enquiries in the area to find out what happened.

A BTP spokesman says they are keeping an open mind about whether the man went into the nearby substation.

His body was found early on Saturday morning (December 4).
