PUPILS of a Plumstead school have visited Parliament to be awarded for a website they created.
Year five students of South Rise Primary School in Brewery Road were amongst 12 winners of the national Make IT Happy Award.
They worked with staff to create an e-safety campaign, lead workshops and build a website for their local area.
The competition was organised by the Parliamentary Information Technology Committee (PITCOM), with the aim to increase a community's internet skills.
A cash prize of £1,200 was awarded to the school by PITCOM and the Institution of Engineering and Technology.
Jodie Collins, IT specialist at the school said: “The prize money has enabled the children to continue working on new initiatives through to next year.”
