ACID was sprayed in people’s faces and two people were stabbed last night (September 29) in separate incidents.

Police were called to Woolwich Arsenal train station at 8.10pm following reports of an assault on board the 7.46pm service from Dartford to Cannon Street.

A 16-year-old boy was taken to a south London hospital with a stab wound to the abdomen.

He remains in hospital in a stable condition and his injuries are not thought to be life threatening.

Two other boys were also treated for minor injuries.

Seven teenage boys aged between 15 and 17 have been arrested in connection with the incident and remain in police custody.

Anyone with information about the incident should contact British Transport Police on 0800 40 50 40 quoting incident number 532 of 29/09/2010.

The station remains closed but is expected to open later today (September 30).

At around 11pm last night officers were alerted to two males who had entered Queen Elizabeth Hospital, one was displaying visible burn marks.

The victim refused to wait for treatment and both males left the hospital stating they would attend Lewisham Hospital instead.

At the same time a victim was brought into the hospital believed to be in a critical condition suffering from stab wounds and burn injuries.

His injuries are believed to be non life threatening.

The assault is believed to have taken place outside the McDonalds in Westhorne Avenue, Eltham.

The chemical was found to be bleach.

No arrests have been made at this time.

Three males also attended University Hospital Lewisham with chemical burns last night (September 29).

Lewisham Healthcare NHS Trust closed the A & E department from midnight to 4am to avoid contamination of other patients and staff.

The three males were transferred to another hospital for further treatment.

Firefighters were called to Lewisham Hospital where they decontaminated the three males and five members of staff.

They were also called to Queen Elizabeth Hospital to reports of an unknown chemical in a 500ml bottle in a car.

They attended the hospital and secured the site.
