REPORTS of a lorry fire near the Dartford Crossing this morning (September 8) proved to be a false alarm.
Firefighters were called to the scene at around 2.30am as the vehicle had a lot of smoke coming from it.
But upon arrival they found the smoke was as a result of the brakes overheating rather than the lorry being on fire.
The crew from Dartford cooled the brakes with water before leaving the scene.

After all, it's what defines the aroma of their homes. Cigarette smoke, that is - of the Superking variety.
Oh, and also the tyres they burn in their front gardens.
