A FIRE on a railway embankment near Hither Green station raged for several hours overnight.
Firefighters from Downham, Lewisham, Forest Hill and Lee Green were called to tackle the blaze just off Springbank Road.
At its height a patch of land 100m by 20m was on fire.
The crews were there from midnight until around 3am.
