ELTHAM: Mum discovers fox in son's bedroom

A MOTHER was horrified to discover a fox in her 10-year-old son’s bedroom.

On June 16 at around 1.30am Debbie Coe was woken up by the barking of the family boxer dog Cooper in her son Charlie’s room.

She said: “I peeked my head round the door and there was a fox on his bed.”

Miss Coe, of Elibank Road, Eltham, went downstairs to get a mop to shoo the fox away but it managed to escape through an open back door.

The 49-year-old court worker said: “I just couldn’t believe it was so brazen.

“Luckily my son was away on a school trip otherwise I might have had a heart attack.”

I heard a rumour that when uncovered the fox was standing in the boys bedroom on its hinde legs dressed as the schoolboy. He had assumed the boys identity and lived as the boy did for a week before the mother realised....and the only thing which gave the game away was when the boy signed off a cheque for he's housekeep, the mother noticed he signed with his left hand...and the boy was infact right handed. Can anyone confirm this because frankly, I cannot believe a boy should be paying housekeep at that age. Far too young.

I can confirm that you have to much time on your hands.

Why thankyou Mr Peniswilly. Although negative I think there was a slight nod of appreciation in your message. I take it very much the way it was meant - a compliment.

She had a Boxer which just barked (I assume by the name 'Cooper' it is a male) The dog would have seen this fox as invading its territory and would have done a lot more then barked, especially as the fox was on the childs bed. The child would be viewed by the dog as part of the pack and he would have protected him as such. Besides which the fox would never have entered a property where it had detected the scent of a dog.

I have to add this link

The expert with 40 years experience states that he is only aware of 2 attacks that were originally attributed to foxes, they turned out to be a German Shepherd and a Cat.

I find it unbelievable that a fox will calmly stroll into a home, past a large Boxer dog, stroll up the stairs (While the dog is barking) and settle on a bed upstairs.

There is only one word for it and I cannot write it here. I will give you a clue, it begins with 'B' ends with 'T' and the countryside is full of it. (As is this woman, coincidently)

Mr Chandler, I may be wrong, but I think she would have 'peeked' her head around the door, not 'peaked'?

And why would her son's presence have given her a heart attack??

Why publish this rubbish unless for comical value? Newshopper please! Should i expect the Chinese Lantern stroke UFO stories back next week? This didn't happen and if the silly woman insists it really did, may i suggest Social services get involved as she is clearly not the full ticket!!!!!!!!!!

I was awoken last night by my goldfish swimming agressively, i went to investigate and found a fox sitting on my toilet having a number 2, i went downstairs to get a stick of Celery to shoo it away but it made an escape sliding down the drainpipe! I WOULDN'T MIND BUT THE FOX USED UP THE LAST OF THE TOILET ROLL!

BS story!
that was my 1st thought when i read this, plus how come if they have a boxer dog it did not smell or sense the fox coming into the house. Suppose the family should be lucky that if they left the back door open at that time of the night that no one came in to burgle them LOL! sorry but what a load of BS this story is!

I was attacked by a bunch of youngsters wearing hoodies outside Mcdonalds yesterday. After confronting the yobs i was astounded to discover it was actually a Skulk of Foxes disguised in hooded tops! Since then i pay extra attention and i was shocked to catch a Fox Vandalising a bus stop last night whilst gulping a bottle of Cider!
