AFTER almost a week, the Eltham Park crow is still lingering around News Shopper’s Petts Wood offices hell-bent on revenge.
Following the negative publicity we gave the angry bird after he attacked joggers, blondes and chased hospital workers at the Queen Elizabeth in Woolwich, the crow has been pecking on our front door for five days now.
In scenes reminiscent of the Hitchcock classic The Birds, journalists and advertising staff based at our HQ in Crest View Drive have resorted to wearing protective clothing and visors to defend themselves from the bloodthirsty bird.
However, one gentleman who lives close by claims the crow may belong to him and has taken on the brave task of trying to capture the bird by spending hours waiting for what he hopes is a reunion with his beloved pet.
Lewisham and Greenwich reporter Mark Chandler, who broke the story about the crow attacking people, has been having sleepless nights all week out of fear he is on the bird’s hitlist.
On his trip to work this morning, he said: “It was pecking at the windows and trying to kick down the door with its claws.
“I felt shaken to my core.”
