FOOTBALL fans are being invited along to an annual football festival.

The Lovefootball Festival features a variety of tournaments for people of all ages and abilities as well as music and food from across the continents.

This year the event will be taking place at Charlton Park in Greenwich.

The main event is the Inner City World Cup tournament, which is a replica of the real World Cup and features 32 teams representing their own countries.

It is taking place on Saturday (May 29) from 10am.

Countries taking part include Ethiopia, Ghana, Somalia, Kuwait, Afghanistan, Japan, England, France and China.

The final 16 teams will reach the knock out stages on Sunday (May 30) which starts at 10am. The final match will take place from 4pm.

Event founder Mark Abery said: “We are proud to be bringing the event to Greenwich at a historic time for a borough already steeped in history and to be working with a great partner like BT on such a prestigious campaign”
