THE last set of auditions for this year's BeXfactor competition take place this weekend.

Following its huge success last year, the competition is back for another talent search.

The hunt is on again for 20 of Bexley’s most talented musicians and 20 outstanding dancers.

There are live auditions for individuals, bands and other combinations, who are aged between 13 and 19 and who live, go to school or attend a youth group in the borough.

Acts can just drop in and perform in front of a panel of experts.

This weekend's auditions take place on Saturday (May 15) at the civic offices in Bexleyheath Broadway and on Sunda (May 16) at Bird College, 59 Station Road, Sidcup.

The dance auditions will take place between 10am and noon, and the music ones from 1pm to 4pm on each day.

Those who make it through to the final selection will be mentored by top industry professionals.

They will be offered the chance to record their own CD or dance reel, and perform live on the main stage at this year’s Danson Festival in July.

They will also be invited to perform at The Scoop, an outdoor sunken amphitheatre with seating for 800 situated between London Bridge and Tower Bridge on the south bank of the Thames. Throughout the summer it regularly hosts a variety of free events.

For the winning musicians, there will be a studio recording contract and a scholarship for Doreen Bird summer school for the top dancers.

Last year’s winners performed at the Danson Festival with headline act Jocelyn Brown and the All Stars.
