DOWNHAM: Three people saved from house fire
TWO girls and a woman escaped from a house fire in Downham this morning.
The woman used a builder’s ladder to get out of the first floor of the home in Hillcrest Road.
Both girls were then lowered to safety before firefighters arrived to battle with the flames on the ground floor.
It is not yet known how the fire started at around 7.20am this morning.
A crew from Downham fire station is still at the scene.
