A CLAIRVOYANT is urging people to vote for him to become the next mayor of Lewisham.

Graham Dare is standing as a candidate for the English Democrats and says it is time for a minority party to run the council.

He said: “It’s a winnable seat because the English Democrats won mayor of Doncaster last year. It can be done.

“I have been trying very hard to get heard as a voice. I have only been to one hustings. I have missed other hustings because people have excluded me.

“I presume it’s because we are a small party and not well known.”

The 56-year-old was a councillor for Croydon from 1998 until 2002 and has been a school governor for many years.

He is also a committee panel member of the youth offending team in south London and a Miss England pageant organiser.

Mr Dare, of Taymount Rise, Forest Hill, said: “I would lower council tax and make savings. I won’t have a mayoral limo and I would reduce the amount of councillors. I would also keep a check on expenses.”

The spiritual healer predicted the death of Princess Diana and the Tsunami in 2004 but says he cannot predict the outcome of the election.

He said: “Predictions tend to work on a one-to-one basis.

“The key skills you have when you are doing spiritual work are similar to skills you need as a politician.

“When you are doing public speaking it helps to work on an inspired basis and intuition. Having that training helps you rise above all the shouting in council chamber and deliver coherent speeches.”
