IT was Oliver! but with a few added surprises.
The musical, based on the Dickens’ classic Oliver Twist was the chosen end-of-term production at Oakwood School, in Woodside Road, Barnehurst.
All 56 pupils at the school for pupils with emotional or behavioural difficulties, as well as some staff, were involved in the production.
Those who did not perform on stage, helped with costumes, scenery and other backstage tasks.
The students pre-recorded some of the songs and sang along with them on-stage, as well as performing others totally live.
They also added some extra songs, not usually associated with the musical.
Live music was provided by students Ashley Chassey (corr), 14, on drums and Sam Letchford, 15, on electric guitar.
The pupils performed the musical for parents, staff, governors and guests.
