A NEW shop to raise money for the British Heart Foundation (BHF) is set to open later this month.
Mayor of Gravesham Councillor Bronwen McGarrity will officially open the new BHF store in New Road in Gravesend on April 28.
The shop will sell second-hand furniture and electrical items, with all proceeds going to the charity’s work to fight heart disease, and has already received many donations.
Area manager Mike Giblin said: “So far we’ve had a brilliant response from the local community and we’re hoping that our new venture in Gravesend will be a great success.” Mr Giblin says the new shop, which offers a free collection service, is looking for more volunteers.
