JURORS in the Paul Martin murder trial have been shown CCTV footage showing the moments leading to his death.
Mr Martin, 25, from Blackheath, was stabbed five times in the neck and chest in Greenwich Church Street, Greenwich, at around 2am on March 29 last year.
This afternoon the Old Bailey jury watched a video showing defendant Michael Bowden entering a phone box before leaving and walking towards Mr Martin.
The pair then move out of sight before Mr Martin's friends are seen surrounding him while he clutches his neck and chest.
Earlier, Mr Martin's friend Sarah Franklin took to the witness box and described the tussle which led to Mr Martin's death.
Fighting back tears, she said: “I went down an alley because I needed the toilet.
“When I came back I heard loud voices and a bit of a commotion.
“I remember seeing the man (Bowden) being quite aggressive towards Paul.
“He seemed to be quite intently looking at Paul. He lunged at Paul, and Alistair (Paul's friend) was trying to calm things down.
“I remember looking at Paul and there was blood. We tried to put as much pressure as we could on his neck.”
Mr Martin was taken to King's College Hospital in Denmark Hill but suffered a cardiac arrest and died several hours later.
Bowden, aged 28, of Marden Square, Bermondsey, denies murder on the grounds of diminished responsibility but has already pleaded guilty to manslaughter.
The trial continues.
