ROAD repair crews are continuing to fix potholes left by the worst winter in 30 years.
Kent County Council has hailed its success at filling 45,300 potholes since the beginning of the year, which is double the amount during the first three months of last year.
This month sees the start of a £1m campaign by highways teams to fix damage along minor routes.
KCC cabinet member for environment, highways and waste Nick Chard said: “Another 1,500 roads have been identified for work and they will be repaired in the next few weeks covering a further distance of 875 miles.
“While we are fixing the damage left by the worst winter for 30 years there are still a lot of potholes on the roads – and drivers need to be prepared for this and drive with extra care.”
