TRAINING CENTRE: A new vocational training centre has been opened at Northfleet Technology College, Colyer Road, Gravesend.

The £250,000 centre, funded by the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister, offers courses in subjects including engineering at BTEC and GCSE level. Call 01474 533802.

STRIDE FOR LIFE: Darent Valley Hospital is looking to sign up residents to its third Stride for Life sponsored walk on July 16. Four different walking routes across the borough are now being decided. All of the money raised will be given to the hospital's cancer fighting fund. Call 01322 428256.

SALE AND RAFFLE: The RNLI is planning to hold a coffee morning and plant sale. The Meopham branch will host the event on May 17 from 10am to 4pm at 4 Blenheim Close, Meopham. The event will include a bring-and-buy sale and a raffle.
