A MUM-OF-TWO says a landlord dropped a boob by asking her to stop breastfeeding her baby in his pub.

Laura Crocker decided to give her one-month-old daughter Georgia a meal of her own after enjoying lunch at the Trafalgar Tavern, Park Row, Greenwich.

But as she started to breastfeed Georgia, the pub's duty manager asked her to stop because of complaints from other diners.

Mrs Crocker, 27, says breastfeeding is a "natural act" and thinks the decision was wrong.

She said: "It was really embarrassing and upsetting for us.

"He told us people were trying to eat but I said well, so is she'. It was completely ridiculous."

Mrs Crocker, who was having lunch with her partner Simon Fullerton, says she was asked to feed Georgia in another room, which she declined.

She says she will still breastfeed in public but is concerned other mums might be put off.

The secondary school teacher, of Manor Lane, Hither Green, added: "The Government is always trying to get more mothers to breastfeed their children.

"If people do not see others breastfeeding in public they will not do it either."

Mrs Crocker, who teaches at Thomas Tallis School, Kidbrooke, has vowed never to return to the pub where she was once a regular.

Pub manager Mick Abrahams says its usual policy is to allow mothers to breastfeed anywhere in the pub.

He says staff acted in this case because of complaints made by two pubgoers.

Mr Abrahams confirmed Mrs Crocker was given the option of feeding her daughter elsewhere.

He said: "I can understand the lady is frustrated but not for one moment would we ever ask her to leave the pub.

"We were trying to keep everyone happy and it is unfortunate it has turned out this way."

Mr Abrahams added the couple and their children would be welcomed back to the pub in the future "with open arms".
