STOP ATTACKS: An MP is backing a drive to stop firemen and ambulance workers being attacked while out on call. Eltham Labour MP Clive Efford suppors the parliamentary Emergency Workers Protection Bill, which proposes fines of up to £5,000 for anyone found guilty of obstructing workers responding to an emergency.
SCHOOL PLANS: Greenwich education chiefs says they are in discussions with bidders as they look to appoint a developer to carry out the Building Schools for the Future programme. The programme will see eight secondary schools in the borough either rebuilt or refurbished.

BUILDING TRADE: Pupils took part in four days of construction workshops to learn more about the building trade. The workshops at the Greenwch Heritage Centre, Royal Arsenal, Greenwich, were organised by Greenwich Council.
CALL FOR MEETING: Lewisham Stop the War Coalition has leafleted the Territorial Army offices in Bromley Road, Catford, to call on Prime Minister Tony Blair to meet families of those killed in Iraq.
