CRICKETERS put down their bats and picked up tools for a DIY day.
More than 50 members of Old Elthamians Granby Cricket Club did various tasks to improve the clubhouse and playing facilities.
These included repainting the outside of the clubhouse in Foxbury Avenue, Chislehurst, and refurbishing and retiling the shower block.
Club chairman Jeff Brown said: "The day was a huge success and many much-needed improvements were made.
"This effort has saved the club in excess of £2,500 of labour costs which would have taken several years of fundraising to achieve."
The DIY day was part of the national NatWest CricketForce scheme which saw people at 1,050 clubs across England and Wales carrying out renovation work.
The club, which was formed in 1935, has 115 members playing in 10 teams.
