A DRINK driver already banned from driving has been jailed for 20 months after stealing a car and crashing it into another vehicle.
The driver of the other vehicle was taken to hospital with serious injuries including a broken arm when David Maslen drove across a roundabout and smashed into her car.
Maslen, of no fixed address, was described by Judge Cedric Joseph as "totally irresponsible" at Croydon Crown Court on May 2.
Maslen, aged 23, crashed into the woman's car in Crofton Road, Orpington, on the afternoon of March 3, in a car he had stolen in Sussex.
When police arrived, he admitted the car was not his and he had been drinking.
He gave a breath test reading of 87, when the limit is 35.
Maslen pleaded guilty to aggravated vehicle taking and driving while banned and with excess alcohol, and was also banned from driving for a further five years.
