SAILORS from Erith Yacht Club enjoyed bright sunshine over the bank holiday weekend.
But a lack of wind hampered their two days of racing for the Braunton Cup and only one dinghy, crewed by Hendrik Feddersen and Bob Saunders, beat the two-hour time limit.
It was the opposite problem the next day when a strong wind capsized several boats competing in the second leg of the race over an Olympic-style course.
Richard Sheridan, the winner for the past two years, completed his hat trick but because results from both days counted, Feddersen and Saunders who crossed the line in third place on the second day, took the trophy.
