A TIME capsule has been buried to celebrate the opening of a new medical centre.
Staff at the £25m Health and Social Care Centre, Bath Street, Gravesend, buried a time capsule in the garden area of the new community hospital built on the site of the old North Kent Hospital.
Dartford, Gravesham and Swanley Primary Care Trust (PCT) ran a competition for primary schools in the area to design a "healthy school scrapbook" based on health education, healthy eating and physical activity.
Seven schools entered the contest and the winning scrapbook created by St John's Primary School, Rochester Road, Gravesend, was placed in a metal capsule along with a picture of the old North Kent Hospital to be buried for 50 years.
The winning scrapbook included photos and drawings by the children.
PCT director of public health Meradin Peachey said: "We would like to commend the children and all the teachers who were involved in the project."
