BIRD expert Dominic Couzens will be taking full advantage of the season to take people on a walk through a nature reserve to listen to and identify birdsong.
The event takes place on Saturday at the Crossness Nature Reserve in Thamesmead.
It is free and is timed to coincide with the time of year when birds are in full song. Common garden birds such as the robin and blackbird are likely to be joined by seasonal visitors such as the reed and sedge warblers and nature reserve residents such as the snipe and lapwing.
Mr Couzens will lead the trip through the reserve and teach people how to identify the songs of different birds, even when they cannot see them.
The walk starts at 10am at the gate to the protected area.
Walkers should park at Thamesmead Golf Centre in Fairview Drive and walk 1.5 miles along the Thames Path to the gate or call warden Karen Sutton on 020 8507 4889 for directions.
