TWO people from Welling joined others from across the country at a reception at the House of Commons for the launch of a campaign.
Alan Ingram and Ann Underwood are members of the Bexley and Dartford Parkinson's Disease Society and made the trip to represent the area at the launch of the Get It On Time campaign.
People suffering from Parkinson's disease can become extremely ill and their symptoms become uncontrolled if they do not get their medication at the right time.
This can happen if they have to be admitted to hospital or a care home for any reason.
The campaign, which has the backing of MPs, was launched during the Parkinson's Disease Society's awareness week, after a survey of hospital nurses revealed Parkinson's sufferers could not rely on getting their medication at the right time.
To support the campaign the society has produced information packs including posters, notepads and information leaflets which it has already sent to hospitals.
To order a pack, call 020 7963 9370 or send an email to pr@parkinsons.org.uk
