PARKWOOD Leisure, which manages Bexley's sports centres, is hosting a charity swim at the Lamorbey Swimming Centre in Sidcup.

Swim a Mile for Life takes place at the Station Road pool between Sunday and May 28.

People are being challenged to swim a mile but this distance does not have to be covered in one session.

Participants can come back several times during the event to complete the mile or they can swim in relays as part of a team.

All the cash raised will go to the Wright Foundation, which is dedicated to the prevention and improvement of chronic medical conditions through properly-supervised activity and exercise.

Specific areas of interest are heart and lung conditions.

Application forms are available from the pool by calling swimming co-ordinator Marina Snelling on 020 8302 0556.
