REVELLERS got in the springtime spirit with a range of traditional and unusual activities to celebrate May Day.
In Greenhithe, celebrations took a trip back in time with a Victorian-themed May Day fair, to mark the period a church was dedicated.
St Mary's Church, Mounts Road, Greenhithe, hosted competitions, face-painting and a bouncy castle to raise funds for its £200,000 redevelopment.
Meopham Community Primary School, Longfield Road, Meopham, organised a parade of schoolchildren, floats, Scouts, a land train and a band.
The May Queen also rode through the village.
The convoy led to a traditional fair with stalls, a coconut shy, May Pole dancing, raffles and parents tug-o-war which raised more than £8,000 for the school.
Jane Garner, secretary of the school's Parent Teacher Association, said: "It's the biggest village event. It was a really good day, the sun came out and the children loved it."
