BEXLEYHEATH & CRAYFORD WATERSIDE WOMEN'S INSTITUTE
At our April meeting the speaker was Dorothy Gray and her talk entitled Going solo', which kept us all guessing as to what it would be about. There were some very interesting suggestions! Anyway, it turned out to be about Dorothy being persuaded to give amusing talks and renderings of her poems when the Drama Group at her WI folded.
Her subject at our meeting was concerning WI's and poking affectionate fun at some incidents she has come across. We cannot remember when we all laughed so much - very enjoyable.
We unanimously agreed to continue starting our meetings by singing Jerusalem'. Members felt strongly about retaining this tradition at each meeting.
Final arrangements were made for our coach visit to Wakefield House and Gardens and we were informed of various district events to which we have been invited.
We also voted on various different suggestions as to the food we would have at our birthday meeting in June, and applications were still being taken for courses at our Denman College.
We meet on the fourth Monday of each month at the District Scouts Headquarters in Mayplace Road West, Bexleyheath, which is easily accessible by public transport and also has a car park.
Meetings start promptly at 7.45pm so we try to be there by 7.30pm - contact 01322 408749 for further details.
