A FLOOR fitter's former girlfriend has spoken of her relief after he was found guilty of assaulting her.

Mark Treasure, aged 27, of Sevenoaks Road, Orpington, forced his way into Eva Sumner's house, grabbed her by the neck, threw her across the room and kicked her.

Bromley Magistrates' Court heard Treasure went to the house, in Cotmandean Crescent, St Paul's Cray, on January 16 because he was upset about not seeing his three-month-old daughter.

Magistrates dismissed his argument he was at a friend's house playing internet poker at the time of the attack.

He was convicted of common assault and using violence to secure entrance to an address and will be sentenced on on May 15.

Speaking after the trial on April 24, Ms Sumner said: "Justice was done. It should be a warning for any man they cannot get away with it."
