A TEENAGER has admitted being the getaway driver for an early-morning burglary.
Michael Hannon, aged 18, pleaded guilty to handling stolen goods, burglary dwelling and theft, attempted theft and using a motor vehicle without third-party insurance at Dartford Magistrates' Court on April 25.
Hannon drove a car to Winters Croft, Gravesend, accompanied by a 13-year-old boy, who cannot be named, with the intent to commit a burglary.
David Skelton, prosecuting, said: "He was a getaway driver for this offence and he was aware they were going to commit a burglary that morning."
They entered a house in Winters Croft at 3.15am as the owners and their young children were asleep and stole goods worth more than £600.
Colin Jones, mitigating, said: "He is a first-time domestic burglar and the majority of the items have been returned."
The case was adjourned until May 25 for pre-sentence reports.
Hannon was released on bail on the conditions he would be electronically tagged and abide by a curfew between 10pm and 6am.
