A FORMER police officer is promising to shed new light on the death of Jean Charles De Menezes.
Former-Scotland Yard detective Peter Bleksley has spent the past six months researching the case of the Brazilian who was mistakenly shot dead by police last July.
Mr Bleksley, from Greenwich, will present his findings to an audience next month but is refusing to give too much away in the meantime.
He said: "I was a police marksman for 15 years. I know my stuff.
"I feel I have an obligation to pass on my unique insight.
"This case is something I feel very strongly about."
Mr De Menezes was shot as he boarded an underground train at Stockwell station, south London, after police mistook him for a terrorist suspect.
Mr Bleksley will reveal all at The Landor Theatre, Clapham, on May 10, from 8pm.
