A MULTI-MILLION-pound health centre equipped with facilities "fit for the 21st Century" is set to open in two years.
Building work has started on the Waldron Primary Care Centre, Stanley Street, New Cross, which is expected to open in May 2008.
The £13.5m development will bring a host of services under one roof, including four GP surgeries and school and district nurses.
It will also house a sexual health clinic and a speech and language therapy centre.
Lewisham Primary Care Trust chairman Brian Lymbery said: "This building is the future of healthcare.
"It will provide facilities which are truly fit for 21st- century healthcare services."
