CHILDREN needing transplants will be helped by a carnival.
The Orpington Carnival committee has chosen to donate money raised at this year's event to the Orpington-based children's charity Children's Transplant Foundation.
The charity gives money to youngsters who need transplant surgery and hospitals providing surgery and support.
Orpington Carnival committee managing director Mike Bignell said: "It's a good day out for people. The carnival brings the community together and also helps to raise money for the charity."
Last year's event was the first time it rained in Mr Bignell's 14 years of running the carnival.
About 4,000 people attended on the day and helped to raise £300.
This year's carnival is on May 29 in Goddington Park, Goddington Lane, Orpington.
Pitches are 12ft by 15ft and cost £15. Floats in the parade are free.
