A SCHOOL production, opening tonight, transforms a classical Greek comedy into a contemporary musical. Chislehurst and Sidcup Grammar School are performing their new version of The Frogs by Aristophanes.
The text has been adapted by Lin Woodacre, who also directs the show. The score was written by the school's head of music Will Michael.
The show's cast of actors, singers, musicians and dancers numbers more than 100, while other pupils operate all technical aspects of the show such as lighting and stage managment.
The Frogs, in which Aristophanes spoofs ancient Greek writers and poets, was first produced in 405 BC.
