AN ANNUAL festival is bringing the sights and sounds of Irish culture to Lewisham with music, comedy and children's events.
The Lewisham Irish Festival 2006 starts this Saturday with a parade of floats, marching bands and troupes of traditional dancers.
The following week sees events including an evening of dancing hosted by radio presenter Gerry Byrne on March 15 and a comedy night starring veteran funnyman and writer Owen O'Neill on March 16.
On March 17 a traditional ceilidh evening features top accordion maestro Damien Mullane.
These events take place at the Lewisham Irish Centre in Davenport Road.
The borough's libraries are organising several events for youngsters including craft activities and storytelling.
