MANAGEMENT at the Priory Shopping Centre have apologised after the centre was accused of "legalised mugging" by an angry family.
Mr Oxtoby wrote to News Shopper after his daughter's car was clamped when she left her vehicle for several minutes while she got change to buy a ticket.
Roger Southam, chief executive of Chainbow Management Services Ltd, said the company carried out an investigation into the incident and a full refund of £95 was offered.
He apologised to Mr Oxtoby, who accused the centre of legalised mugging, and his daughter.
Mr Southam said: "It is not our intention to cause problems for people who legally use the car park.
"We are working closely with car park users, retailers, and the clamping company to ensure situations such as this do not happen again."
