GOLFERS have been told to pack away their clubs after a course was closed on grounds of health and safety.

The course was closed on advice from contractors Jackson Construction which is working on the neighbouring Princes Park Stadium, Dartford.

The firm believes the movement of earth and the arrival of diggers on site could have compromised health and safety had the course stayed open.

The 29 members of the nine-hole course have all been written to about the closure.

A council spokesman said: "We had hoped to keep the course open longer but must put health and safety first."
