MAKERS of television series The Bill have been slammed by Harlow MP Bill Rammell for unjust attacks on Harlow.
Mr Rammell objects to a recent episode, in which a police officer says to a suspect: "This is a nice flat. Not your usual surroundings. You came here from Harlow, didn't you?"
The MP is now pressing for a more positive portrayal of the town in the show.
He said: "I am sick and tired of people who know nothing about Harlow knocking it. Harlow is a green and open place -- this sort of cheap jibe benefits no-one."
