DISABLED supporters of Charlton Athletic have received a boost with the news the Westfield Health Scheme has renewed its sponsorship with the club to provide people with handicaps facilities at The Valley.

Charlton is one of a number of clubs benefiting from Westfield's backing and comes on the back of a recent report which criticised premiership clubs for not providing adequate seating for handicapped fans.

Alison Wilson, Charlton's commercial manager, is delighted with the deal. She said: "We are able to provide 100 seats for disabled supporters and their helpers, which for a club of our size is a good proportion. The enclosure has excellent access and a good view of the pitch.

"The enclosure is always full and it a testament to the quality service we provide in conjunction with Westfield. It is priceless when you compare it to the freedom it gives disabled football fans."

Richard Jolie, Westfield's south-east area sales representative, echoed her views and added: "This support demonstrates our commitment to all areas of the community."
