Kingstonian enjoyed a fan-tastic start to this historic season, taking all three points from their opening day clash with Hereford.
The largest crowd of the Conference - 2,104 - watched a classy Ks side net two first half goals to make it a perfect first day in the top flight.
Veteran striker Dave Leworthy was on target on 10 minutes, and Joe Francis after 35 as Ks looked comfortable in their new league.
The pressure began to tell in the second half, however, and Hereford enjoyed some good spells with Ks playing too deep to capitalise on their early success.
Manager Geoff Chapple singled out Mark Harris in the home side's defence as a ''pillar of strength''. And while he was disappointed with the second half display, added: "We coped with everything they threw at us."
One game does not make a season, however, and Ks will have needed to be on top form for Tuesday night's trip to Yeovil, run by former Ks man Colin Lippiatt.
And on Saturday they face another stiff test of their character, with a tough away game at Morecambe.
That's quickly followed by a home clash with big spending Rushden and Diamonds, and the visit of Doncaster Rovers to Kingsmeadow.
l Next home game: Rushden and Diamonds. Tuesday, August 25.
