I would like, through the medium of your pages, to thank all those kind people who came to my aid on Friday, July 24, when I fell heavily in Sutton High Street.

I am particularly grateful to the young man who held my head the whole time until the arrival of the ambulance.

Whoever he is, he was the most gentle and reassuring. There was also a kind lady who used her handbag to support my head, I hope she retrieved it intact after I left. A gentleman provided a spotless white handkerchief which I know became very bloodstained and was probably lost.

Several others helped in a variety of ways.

It is very heartwarming to realise how readily people come to one's aid in these very pressured times.

Thank you again to all those Samaritans.
