Labour and Liberal Democrats are not joined at the hip.
An article (News Shopper, July 15) on the financial mess left in Bromley by the Conservatives, contained a reference to the Labour/Liberal Democrats group.
There is no such political grouping on Bromley Council.
Labour and Liberal Democrats remain separate parties.
We have our own policies and our own leaders. We have, however, agreed to work in partnership for the good of Bromley where we have a common agenda. For example, on developing a green transport strategy.
Where there are legitimate policy differences, we will agree to differ.
Co-operation between parties may be novel, but it should not be confused with a merger.
