HAVING read with interest Bromley Council is considering proposals to build a 15-screen multiplex cinema in Bromley South, I wonder if the specially-commissioned study which said it would be viable, also took into consideration the proposed building of a 20-cinema multiplex in the north of the borough, in Crystal Palace?
If the studies into the viability of both of these developments were carried out independently, then this must surely add ammunition to the protesters of Crystal Palace development.
A multiplex in central Bromley would be a good idea and would not be out of place, or cause disruption to local transport. Whereas, the development proposed in Crystal Palace will cause massive disruption to traffic and trade in the Crystal Palace area.
I hope that the development gets the go ahead in Bromley, as it must surely reduce the viabillity of the Crystal Palace development.
